The challenge
Freelancers told us their banking app made them anxious: one big balance, no idea what was safe to spend, and tax season as a yearly ambush.
The approach
We interviewed 22 freelancers, then designed around one idea: show what's actually yours. Incoming payments are split automatically into 'safe to spend', 'tax' and 'buffer', and the home screen leads with a single calm number.
The outcome
The redesigned app launched to the beta group with a new onboarding, a 40-component design system and a prototype the engineering team built from directly.
